I can agree with Joe Biden on one front, paying taxes is patriotic. It is symbolic of our support for our country. But where do we draw the line? At what point do paying taxes go from patriotic to financial rape? How much more can our citizens bear? Local taxes, county taxes, state taxes, federal taxes, payroll taxes, sales taxes ...the list goes on. Patriotic yes, but does paying a third or more of our income in taxes make us any more patriotic than say 10% would? Just because one class of people pays more or less in taxes shouldn't be an indicator of their patriotism for the US.
More Taxes=Greatest Patriotism Less Taxes=Mediocre Patriotism. Christians give a tithe, and per the Bibles teaching it is to be 10% of our increase. If we don't give above that 10% is that reflective of our love for the Lord? If we give more than 10% are we elevated to a higher level of love for the Lord? Paying taxes is patriotic but it MUST stop somewhere, otherwise, the American people will not be able to provide their families the "American Dream", how patriotic would that be?
