Gulf Coast Experience
Having made a trip to the Gulf Coast beginning this past Saturday, the past few days served us up some unique experiences. For starters, when a region displaces 1.9 million people from an area due to a hurricane threat, they must go somewhere. I think we passed most of them...they were coming out and we were going in. Traffic was thick and motel-hotel room availability was an issue but we were fortunate to find housing. When the storm made it's landfall, Pensacola got wind, rain, and some not so severe flooding, but all in all very little damage that we could see. However, to the west is a different story. It is Wednesday morning and we are back in South Carolina, only to be greeted by guess what...a potential hurricane headed our way. Hanna is expected to hit the Carolina's coastline and make an inland push through our area, surely to bring heavy rains and winds so buckle up.
